Icelandic Long Wool Sheepskin
Bring wild, untamed elegance and sophisticated Nordic luxury to your home.
Imported from the Netherlands ~ crafted by Van Buren (operating since 1861), our Icelandic sheepskin in Natural Gray is a true statement piece for modern interiors. Globally celebrated for its exceptionally long, soft staples and high-volume pile, this premium hide adds an extra fluffy, tactile dimension to any living space. Unlike mass-produced alternatives, these skins are expertly tanned while remaining completely undyed, beautifully preserving their natural sheen and rugged durability.
100% Organic Palette: No artificial dyes or bleaches are used. These skins represent the authentic, organic beauty of the herd, showcasing rich, multi-toned gradients that blend effortlessly into neutral or moody color schemes.
Texture: Unique dual-coated fleece featuring long, wispy outer hairs over a dense, soft undercoat for maximum loft and fluffiness.
Style Fit: The ultimate statement accent for Japandi, Organic Modern, Rustic Luxury, and Scandinavian Minimalist curation.
Multi-Functional Decor: Perfectly sized to drape elegantly over a mid-century accent chair, soften a wooden entryway bench, or serve as a plush, cozy floor accent.
Professional Care & Longevity Guide: To ensure you enjoy our Icelandic sheepskin for decades, share these essential care tips:
The Do’s: Regularly shake or beat the skin outdoors to remove dust and restore its signature wild volume. Use a dedicated wool comb to keep the long fibers loose and prevent tangling. If placed in dry environments (such as homes with underfloor heating), occasionally mist the wool lightly with water to keep the leather backing supple.
The Don’ts: Spot clean only. Do not machine wash or submerge in water, as moisture can cause the leather backing to dry, shrink, or crack. Avoid placing in direct, harsh sunlight to maintain the integrity of the natural gray hues.
